About the charts
This graph shows three data columns for the “% met standard” scoring students of the Washington Assessment of Student Learning (WASL) for each year. The first column is the score for East Ridge Elementary, the second is the district average, and the third is the state average.
About Washington Assessment of Student Learning (WASL)
The WASL currently is comprised of a series of criterion-reference tests in reading, writing, mathematics, and science. These standards based assessments incorporate three item types: selected response (multiple choice); short constructed response; and extended constructed response. Performance standards for the assessments in reading, writing, mathematics, and science have been set using an item mapping technique after that developed by researchers at CTB/ McGraw-Hill.
