Summary

Arrowhead Elementary is a public Pre-K through 5th grade school serving 332 students in Kenmore, Washington, as part of the highly-regarded Northshore School District.

The school is a consistent high-performer, currently ranking in the top 10% of all Washington elementary schools, with students scoring well above state averages in English, math, and science. What makes Arrowhead particularly noteworthy is its ability to achieve these strong results while serving a more economically diverse student population than many nearby top schools; for instance, it serves about three times the percentage of students qualifying for free/reduced lunch as the similarly high-achieving Moorlands Elementary or Carl Sandburg Elementary in the Lake Washington School District.

Arrowhead invests more per student than many comparison schools, which appears to support effective programs for all learners. The school excels in early grades and in science, though there is an opportunity to strengthen fifth-grade math scores. It also shows a notable pattern of male students outperforming female students, even though both groups score well above average. Overall, Arrowhead represents a compelling option that successfully combines academic excellence with support for a diverse community of learners.

Open Quote My daughter is in kindergarten at Arrowhead. She has one teacher for 35 5 -6 year old children. Please tell me how any one adult can manage and teach 35 little 5 year old children. Additionally, the school barely acknowledges holidays, does not allow cake or cupcakes for Birthday celebrations and does very little to build school moral in children. We are disappointed thus far in the school after having our son have such great experiences at his school 1st - 8th grade.

We are fairly new to the school district but our son who attends Inglemoor HS loves it and we've had great interaction with the teachers and staff at the HS. Close Quote

Open Quote As a new family to Arrowhead, the parents and staff are welcoming and helpful. The teachers, principal and PTA have all worked with us to become familiar with the school environment, educate us as parents on what to expect this year and throughout our time at Arrowhead.

Our daughter is happily settled into class with a terrific teacher. The principal, whom we met at the new family orientation this summer visits with us after school, knows us by name and really has made an effort to help our once very concerned, very worried little girl feel happy, safe and confident in her new surroundings.
