As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote If you have a single parent home this is not the school for you. They had a hybrid online program that was perfect for my son and my work schedule. Then they canceled it with less then a weeks worth of notice.

They say they have car pooling but NONE of the other parents are interested in driving other kids, they are all there to find someone to drive their kids.

There are no after school programs so you’d better be able to drop your kids up at 8 and pick them up at 3:30 because that school could care less if your kid has no place to go for an hour after school.

I ordered and paid for 2 School hoodies and my son never received them.

I presented them with a detailed medical evaluation of my sons learning disabilities and medication and they didn’t think he needed a 504 or IEP.

My son failed 9th grade math but somehow was able to enroll in 10th grade math.

When we went into his student portal they still had him in the 9th grade even when he was in 10th.

My son has submitted several assignments that have never been graded. Assignments I had to pay a tutor a lot of money to complete.

When I emailed the school to express my frustration with how my son seems to be invisible and is failing so many classes it was getting critical they simply told me that their Seminar classes can’t be made up so we would basically just have to take him to another school to get his credits. And then graciously offered to send me some resources. Not resources that they were providing but resources from other schools. Close Quote

Open Quote If you have had the stress of trying to ask for help over and over again in other schools and never got the assistance for your child, I know how you feel. My child suffered since elementary and junior high years in public schools. No one ever really cared. She was failing in everything. She was teased and pick on for being behind academically. Then one day, we found Paradigm High School. I don't know any other school with a staff of teachers and secretaries who care more for a student who attends this school like Paradigm. Because of them, my daughter learned that she is important and capable to achieve all she can in life. She was happy and not discouraged. I don't ever remember a day during the 3 years that she attend this school, that I had to go to the school without any problems being solved. I am simply grateful for all that the school and it's staff has done to help my daughter to sucessed. I am currently in the process of enrolling my third child at Paradigm, because I had nothing but trouble with another school who only worries about the numbers and forget the well being it's students. That would never happen at Paradigm. I love the school. It has a special feeling of love and unity. It is the school for my children. The teachers are the BEST! Close Quote

Open Quote Paradigm High School is unique in that it has deliberately attempted to make this challenging education accessible to all students. We have done this by coupling it with proven tools that make learning more reachable. Some of these tools are:

Mentoring:

A recent Research Brief published by Child Trends and titled, "Mentoring: A Promising Strategy for Youth Development," found that youth who participate in mentoring relationships experience a number of positive benefits. In terms of educational achievement, mentored youth have better attendance; a better chance of going on to higher education; and better attitudes towards school. In terms of health and safety, mentoring appears to help prevent substance abuse and reduce some negative youth behaviors. On the social and emotional development front, taking part in mentoring promotes positive social attitudes and relationships. Mentored youth tend to trust their parents more and communicate better with them. They also feel they get more emotional support from their friends than do youth who are not mentored.

Multiple Modes of Learning:

This program recognizes that people learn in different ways, and if they are taught in their preferred mode, they will progress at a faster pace, with more understanding.

Relevance-Based Learning:

This style of learning engages the student in discussion and hands on applications. It applies relevance to educational principles and makes learning come alive. Also as part of our relevance based learning we offer opportunities for apprenticeships, internships, job shadowing and service opportunities.

Individual Mission Program:

Unique to Paradigm, this tool is similar to an IEP, for every student. A team is formed comprised of the student, his parents and a mentor. A goal path is set in which the student takes the lead in planning for his future. Through weekly parent feedback, student review and mentor reports, the student’s progress is easily followed and this allows for prompt alterations if needed.

Small School and Class Size:

The advantages of small school and class size are well documented in many studies. A lower student to teacher ratio creates a more personal environment to ensure that no child will slip through the cracks, and be left behind. Close Quote

Open Quote Paradigm is amazing. There are so many great things to learn, do, and become. The mentors really care about each student and the learning is based much more around the student's capabilities and pace.
There's a special spirit here. Sure, there's some drama, just like any high school, but here we make friends of everybody. I instantly felt welcome upon coming to Paradigm.
And I love it here. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
