As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote NWA has been fantastic with meeting our kids needs (both special needs and mainstream for kids).

Can really tell that the teachers and admin care about the kids. Close Quote

Open Quote I was very pleased with the school in 2011, but they have changed their whole program this year (2012). Some of the changes are improvements, but the environment they have created this year is very hostile, frightening, and or stressful for the children. They have really increased the negative reinforcement this year (card flip extravaganza), Children are not allowed to sit with their friends at lunch time and they are not even allowed to talk to one another during some of their lunch time (they call it "chew time", during this time the little kids are expected to shut up and chew their food ). School is always somewhat stressful just because it is school, but they have added a lot of completely unnecessary stress to their program this year. The wait to pick up your kids at car pool has doubled as well (expect to spend 40-60 per day waiting in line to pick up your child). Half of their teachers left the school last year after the school announced their plans for this year. I am now starting to understand why. Many of the new teachers have never taught before. The principal seems unresponsive to parent feedback. If you are looking for a new school, my advice is to keep looking. Close Quote

Open Quote There are several reasons why we like this school. The teachers use the same method to teach Math (Saxon), English (Shurley), and Language Arts (Spalding) from kindergarten to sixth grade. Students wear a uniform. The playground area is out-of-sight from the street and they use a car-pool system so children are not just released without supervision after school. There are 2 adults in every classroom (the teacher and the teacher's full-time assistant). We feel like our children are getting a quality education at this school. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
