Open Quote Starwood Montessori is an amazing place where the administration and teachers work together to create an inspiring learning environment for our kids. Our twins were happy to be a part of this warm and inviting community for two years and had a great experience. Our children experienced incredible growth in their formative years. They felt supported, connected, challenged, and flourished both socially and academically. They have since transitioned to a traditional school where they continue to be leaders and continue to enjoy learning. Our children still fondly talk about their teachers and the work they accomplished while at Starwood. If you are looking for a school with professional administrators and staff who are supportive and passionate about doing the best for our children, Starwood Montessori is the place to be! Open Quote We have been a part of the Starwood family for six years. We have two children who have participated in the toddler program, and the primary program. We sent our son to public school for Kindergarten, and are back at Starwood for first grade, in their elementary class. We have been so pleased with everything at Starwood.

Our son is reading way ahead of level, and doing higher level math as well. The staff is consistent, and rarely changes. I really wasn't "sold on" the elementary program until we attended their Parent's night. While we were there, we saw the AMAZING work the children are doing, things that would never be possible in a public classroom! They are able to work to their ability, not wait for the rest of the class to catch up. All the children are successful and feel good about their work. There are NO discipline problems, no staff issues, just a place that is designed for LEARNING.

Our daughter is a more creative type learner, and she is also doing very well in her class. We feel that a montessori education is education for life. The children learn how to organize themselves, their work, and to work individually as well as groups.

We love Starwood, and we will be participating in their programs as long as our children are able! Close Quote

Open Quote My grandchildren attend Starwood and as an educator also, I am thrilled with the results. The Montessori method works so well with young children because each lesson is designed just for the child's level and ability. At Starwood, children are given the greatest gift of all; confidence in themselves. My grandchildren are in both the pre-school class and the elementary class and each day they are challenged. They come home with something newly learned each day and have a great experience. The facilities are second to none and the separate playgrounds and green house offer quality play time also. They learn how to use the computer and to work well with others and to always work to their potential. There is no scraming or yelling and the teachers speak to the children at their level. They are quietly encouraged to work hard and to obey the rules. As a teacher, I can always tell a student who went to Montessori school. They have great learning habits because they have been taught how to learn. My littlest granddaughter will start Starwood in the fall and she, too, will have the opportunity to experience education at its best. It is a wonderful place. I love going to peek in at the children and see them happily working or enjoying group time with a great bunch of teachers. Visit and you will see that is a wonderful option for all children. Open Quote If you want your child to learn anything then RUN away from this school! They claim to teach past 2nd grade but if your child is bright, this is not the place. My child has been in a few schools and learned more in public school than here! Big waste of money! Close Quote

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
