Summary

Kirkpatrick Middle is a public middle school in Fort Worth, Texas, serving 465 students in grades 6-8. The school is part of the Fort Worth Independent School District, which is ranked 733 out of 961 districts in the state and has a 1-star rating from SchoolDigger.

Kirkpatrick Middle has consistently underperformed compared to district and state averages across key metrics. Its students' test scores in reading, math, and other subjects are significantly lower than their peers, with only 35% of 6th graders proficient or better in STAAR Reading, compared to 38.24% for the district and 54.21% for the state. The school also has relatively high dropout rates, ranging from 1.1% to 4.1% in recent years, higher than the district and state averages. Additionally, Kirkpatrick Middle serves a high concentration of economically disadvantaged students, with 94.62% to 97.73% of its students receiving free or reduced-price lunch.

When comparing Kirkpatrick Middle to nearby schools within the same district, such as Stripling Middle and Riverside Middle, Kirkpatrick consistently underperforms in terms of test scores, dropout rates, and other key metrics. This suggests that the challenges faced by Kirkpatrick Middle may be systemic issues within the district. Despite having a relatively low student-teacher ratio and higher spending per student than the district and state averages, the school continues to struggle, indicating that additional funding alone may not be the sole solution to its challenges.
