Summary

Miller Elementary is a public elementary school located in Arlington, Texas, serving grades PK-6 with a total enrollment of 538 students. The school is part of the Arlington Independent School District, which is ranked 660 out of 961 districts in Texas and has a 2-star rating from SchoolDigger.

Despite consistent funding and a relatively low student-teacher ratio, Miller Elementary has consistently underperformed compared to the district and state averages on STAAR tests across all grade levels and subjects. For example, in the 2024-2025 school year, the percentage of 3rd grade students at Miller Elementary who were proficient or better in STAAR Reading was 29.69%, compared to 41.53% for Arlington ISD and 52.02% for Texas. The school also struggles to effectively serve certain student subgroups, ranking particularly low for Asian, African American, and White student subgroups, as well as for students from low socioeconomic backgrounds and those receiving special education services.

Interestingly, the nearby Corey Fine Arts/Dual Language Academy, located just 2.28 miles from Miller Elementary, ranks in the top 15% of Texas elementary schools and significantly outperforms Miller on STAAR tests. Despite the school's consistent funding and resources, Miller Elementary has not shown significant improvement in its academic performance or SchoolDigger rankings over the past 10 years, suggesting the need for more targeted and effective interventions to address the unique needs of its student population.

Open Quote They’re awful towards students. The teachers do nothing about bullying and most of them are bullies themselves. They do not care about students whatsoever and they will NOT have any sympathy towards your kid if they’re not white, mentally ill, or not a straight A student. They let the teachers get away with basically abusing the kids and the teachers are rude and disrespectful to not only students and your parents if they confront them. Please do not send your kids here whatsoever. They literally traumatized me and if I could give this school no stars, I would. This school is awful in every way possible, please. If you love your child do not take them here. Close Quote
