Despite spending significantly more per student ($12,469 to $14,880) than the state average, Richland Northeast High consistently underperforms compared to the district and state in academic metrics. For example, in the 2024-2025 school year, only 42.86% of students were proficient or better in Algebra 1/Mathematics, compared to 70.4% for the Richland 02 district and 73.95% for the state. Interestingly, Spring Valley High, Dreher High, and A.C. Flora High, which are nearby schools in the Richland 01 district and Richland 02 district, outperform Richland Northeast High in various metrics. This suggests the need for a comprehensive review of Richland Northeast High's strategies, resource allocation, and equity practices to improve student outcomes.

Open Quote Teachers are great. Administration does not control the disruptive students. When a disruptive student gets sent to an administrator, the student gets a slap on the wrist and gets sent back to class. Gangs have significant influence. Good teachers and substitutes who try to teach the students get forced out of their jobs by the administration. I would not send my child to this school. Close Quote
