Summary

Spring Mountain Elementary School is a public elementary school in Happy Valley, Oregon, serving 353 students in grades K-5 and part of the North Clackamas School District. The school consistently outperforms the district and state in academic achievement, ranking in the top half of Oregon elementary schools over the past several years.

Spring Mountain Elementary School's strong performance is evident across various metrics. In the 2024-2025 school year, the school had significantly higher proficiency rates in English Language Arts, Mathematics, and Science compared to the district and state averages. The school also excelled in supporting different student subgroups, including male students, white students, and students with special needs, all of whom performed at high levels. Notably, the school maintained its strong academic outcomes despite having a relatively high percentage of students from low-socioeconomic backgrounds.

When compared to nearby schools, such as Whitcomb Elementary School and Sunnyside Elementary School, Spring Mountain Elementary School stands out as a high-performing institution. This stark contrast in academic achievement presents opportunities for collaboration and knowledge-sharing to help improve outcomes at the lower-performing schools in the district. However, the school's rising chronic absenteeism rates are a concern that warrants further investigation and intervention.
