Summary

Aloha-Huber Park School is an elementary and middle school located in Beaverton, Oregon, serving grades PK-8 with a total enrollment of 910 students. It is part of the Beaverton School District 48J, which is ranked 17th out of 140 districts in Oregon and has a 4-star rating from SchoolDigger.

Despite being part of a highly-ranked district, Aloha-Huber Park School has consistently ranked in the bottom half of Oregon elementary schools over the past 10 years, typically in the 400-600 range out of 700+ schools, and has maintained a 2-star rating from SchoolDigger for most of this period, indicating below-average performance compared to other Oregon schools. The school has particularly low rankings for male students, low-income students, and students with disabilities, often in the bottom 25% of Oregon schools for these subgroups. Proficiency rates in English Language Arts, Mathematics, and Science are significantly lower at Aloha-Huber Park School compared to the Beaverton School District and the state of Oregon as a whole.

Interestingly, the school has performed relatively better for African American and Hispanic students, ranking in the top 25% of Oregon schools for these subgroups in some years. However, the large gaps in performance between different student subgroups indicate areas for improvement in addressing equity and inclusion. Additionally, the school's high chronic absenteeism rates, ranging from 28.3% to 38.1% in recent years, are well above the district and state averages. While the school's spending per student is relatively high, at $17,968 in the 2022-2023 school year, this suggests the school may not be effectively utilizing its resources to drive student achievement, especially when compared to nearby higher-performing schools within the same district, such as Hazeldale Elementary, Fir Grove Elementary, and Sexton Mountain Elementary.

Open Quote I took my sin out of this school. The principal is uninvolved, unconcerned of the violence ,theft among peers. The teachers, counselor are just as bad and are a direct reflection of how bad the public school system in this area really is. The Beaverton school district and it's intirety is an absolute disgrace. I put my son in a private school. His behavior and grades vastly improved . The stats at the school say Hispanics rule the school . Low income along with all the problems that those caliber of people bring to society. Close Quote

Open Quote The teachers and staff are wonderfully attentive and show a genuine interest in the health and education of both the school and students each and every time that I have been on this campus. The classrooms are well-organized, the school property is clean, well-maintained, and feels safe. Staff and teachers are professional, respectful, and seem to work hard to impart this respect to the students. I always leave there with the impression that the students are receiving a high level of attention and that Aloha-Huber's focus is on the health, safety, and education of the students. As far as public schools go, I do not think you could ask for a better environment for your child. Close Quote
