OCCT Tests: 3rd Grade – 8th GradeThe Oklahoma Core Curriculum Tests are aligned to Oklahoma’s Priority Academic Student Skills, known as OK PASS skills, which define what students should learn each year. OCCT tests are given as follows:3rd, 4th, and 6th Grades: OCCT tests in reading and mathFifth Grade: OCCT tests in reading, math, writing, science, and social studiesSeventh Grade: OCCT tests in reading, math, and geographyEighth Grade: OCCT tests in reading, math, writing, science, and U.S. HistoryHigh School: OCCT End-of-Instruction TestsOklahoma high school students take OCCT End-of-Instruction (EOI) tests in algebra I, algebra II, English II, English III, geometry, biology I, and U.S. history upon completion of each course. In order to graduate from a public high school with a standard diploma, students must pass the English II and algebra I tests, as well as two of the other five tests. Oklahoma also teaches personal financial literacy, and as a requirement for graduation, students must demonstrate satisfactory knowledge of such topics as credit card debt, saving money, and understanding loans, among the 14 areas of finance instruction.How OCCT and Oklahoma EOI Tests Are ScoredThe Oklahoma Core Curriculum Tests and OCCT End-of-Instruction Tests are standards-based, criterion-referenced tests that measure how well students have mastered the challenging Oklahoma state standards (OK PASS skills). The OCCT tests and Oklahoma EOI tests report student achievement in each subject using the following four levels:1. Advanced2. Satisfactory3. Limited Knowledge4. UnsatisfactoryThe goal is for all Oklahoma students to score at or above the satisfactory level.
