I rated this school by it's potential to make change. With frustrations come emotion, which can motivate one to do positive or negative things. It's our choice. I am a 1973 alumni of JMH, and I also rated this school from my experience then, because at that time it was one of the highest rated academic schools in the REGION. If there had been internet and this survey back then, you would see 5 stars everywhere on this site.
I think there is a problem at almost every school in the U.S. of lackadaisical students, but the schools that are rated well have involved parents and students who take full responsibility for their actions. There is excitement and potential to make change. This is possible for JMH once again. If you want to see change, make it happen.
God Bless and let's ALL make John Marshall High School in Cleveland Ohio one of the best. Don't tell me about the color one's skin, it has no bearing on "possibility". We all know that now. ANYone can do ANYthing if their mind is made up to achieve and do good in this world.

Marshall... Marshall is possibly the worst school in the history of schools. There are what I would call "Social Classes" in which many children are given special treatment while others are excluded. And this is not what you may think it is. Like the children whom are given special treatment such as getting away with wearing items that are not Dress-Code are black and only black. If I white child tried to walk into Marshall out of dress-code they would be sent home immediately. The teachers there are horribly disrespected by most of the children whom believe they scare the teachers and many classrooms become chaotic. Yes there are good students, and good teachers there but for the most part there are more students and teachers that just do not care about what happens. The students in this school that I have met are often illiterate and in my eyes stupid. The Principal does not care about the students she cares only about getting children in dress code and suspending children for stupid meaningless things. While people that deserve to be in trouble remain unpunished. I believe this school to be one of the worst you could attend.
