Had a horrible experience with this school! My son attended 1st grade (2021-2022) in the “autism class”. I was promised his IEP mandated services (PT, OT, Speech, and a para). My son never received his PT services for the whole entire semester there. I had to take him to a clinic after school to get PT outside of school. The speech teacher quit and the her Clinical director Dr.D’Agostino didn’t notify me until the end of the therapist’s last day. OT was on maternity leave for 4 months and my son didn’t receive any service during that time. Then the OT therapist resign during the last month of school. My son didn’t get his paraprofessional until January and the person they hired had atrocious attendance. If your child gets hurt, don’t expect copies of incident reports. The principal Mr.Lewis will give all sorts of excuse as to why you can’t have them. My son kept coming home with marks and the support staff couldn’t really tell me what happen. They advertise that they have an animal therapy program. My son never got this service and I was kinda glad he didn’t when I found out the breed of the animal (PITBULL) and this “service animal” was sound sensitive. They have a sign on the main floor by their entrance above the fire alarm pulley stating to notify the Clinical Director Dr.D’Agostino prior to fire drills. I’m sorry that’s not a service animal. The fact the dog is a PITBULL and he is sound sensitive doesn’t sit well with any parent and it’s worrisome to see a sign over the fire alarm stated such thing. The teacher’s assistant my son had was terrible. She didn’t like to take the kids that are still in diapers potty training to the bathroom to help them clean up. My son’s teacher had him verbalizing when he need to go until he had an accident where the teacher’s assistant refused to take him. She ignored him and he defecated on himself. He was embarrassed when he told his teacher. She had to stop teaching to help him clean up. Ever since then, He was scared to ask to go to the bathroom and his teacher had to start asking him to go to the bathroom. This teacher’s assistant also dodges and ignores your calls. She refuses to talk to parents. Don’t send your kids here. The only want the funding they receive for each child from the DOE. All the care about is the money. They don’t care above anyone’s kids. And when you come to the school, they make you feel very unwelcomed. They treat their teachers that are honest and do the right thing like garbage. And when you visit the school there’s no order. The kids run the place and are very disrespectful. The students there bring in weapons such as tasers. BEWARE OF THIS PLACE!! YOUR CHILD GOALS WILL NOT BE MET!! THIS SCHOOL WILL LIE TO YOU. THEY TALK TO PARENTS AS IF YOU ARE AS WELL ON THE SPECTRUM FOR AUTISM OR HAVE EMOTIONAL BEHAVIORAL/ DEVELOPMENTAL DELAYS.
