Open Quote Honestly very nice school with good teachers,courses and environment. Some kids here are bad but most of them are nice. One bad problem is the crowded hallway. Shallow is not horrible like how some people may think it is. It had a bad reputation because of a bad ex principal but after she left Shallow had become a really nice place. Open Quote The act is gerting better and better every year. We are now taking 3 regents and the grades of the students improved drastically. I have been allowed to participate in the New York State science and Engeerneering fair for 2 years now. There are many students that are doing well and top students getting 99 as their average though the work the teachers give are not easy. It is alot of hard work being in a regents class but I know in the end it will be all worth it. Thank you for giving me this oppourtunity. Close Quote

Open Quote students who came to this school are selfish and dumb for staff the school is very far and its lack of teachers are making their kids ashamed and more work and most of what they teach is nothing effective to the students in real life there is no use of knowledge used from what I learned in shallow is nothing applied to the real life accept some and all the work we do and give in for teachers are useless and doesn't relate to any topics and teachers make it less entertaining for learning there is no energy in learning and this school is lazy its easy to pass in my other school was more entertaining then here and waste of school supplies that we bought in the beginning but its a waste of money and the students here that go and the bathrooms suck and here its way when students socialize has low self esteem here and may want to commit suicide and teachers aren't very reliable or the staff members and most of the staff members don't do their job and they are lazy and stupid and the assemblies are horrible and a waste of time and need to upgrade the auditorium and the plays sucks and the staff needs work they are not helping students at all this school taught me nothing but showed me how really stupid and selfish people are and spoiled students and some of the staff members and the teachers teaching us doesn't really help students at all and confuse the students. The staff members are not doing anything to put more effort and need to know what the real world is like and people are so stupid and selfish and let down others and the trips are expensive and they are not good trips at all very bad for this school and it needs to be better or they will see all their students suffer from stress and each other and pressure and they don't teach how to spread love and respect at all and trying to show that and students are suffering because of this school and its a bad place where there is no logic and all the teachers confuse students all the times and have pressure on themselves and stress and no comfort in the classroom and no fun and boring are all useless to the information that we need in life accept some and several sports people are not allowed to play at this school at all pathetic and more racism in this school and reporting students to teachers DOES NOT HELP STUDENTS OR ANYONE AND THE TEACHERS ARE CLUELESS OF STUDENTS GETTING BULLIED AND ASSEMBLIES ABOUUT IT DOES NOT HELP AT ALL and when they scream on the microphone for attention in the cafeteria my ear hurts like hell and why is the nurses office on the 2nd floor and no shows love to anyone they all are selfish and putting each other in bad positions in life and staff members and this school basically ruined my life and more people in the future this is my complain Close Quote

Open Quote It's a school where most students who attend come from the poor working class. Most students are lacking discipline because their parents are most likely not college educated. There's a lot of bullying that goes unchecked in the school and it's sad to see that there are rumors spread of this being a zoned school teaching low standard education and how some parents who are educated avoid zoned schools by their willingness to drive, pick up and drop off their kids at far schools who have better teachers and smart and kind students. Bullying from this school mostly comes from poorer students who come from low income abusive households and hurt students who try to dress well and study hard. It's frustrating and it's an issue that is the fault of the department of education. Just look at public schools they are designed similarly like prisons. They don't look like the beautiful schools that were once built before. The food is awful because of the budget that permits only cheap frozen grade B meat. Gym equipment is not that diverse, so students have limited exposure to sports other than basketball or soccer. Teachers yell and verbally abuse students for "misbehaving" or not paying attention instead of considering household conditions/lifestyle or an underlying medical condition that is unknown to the family. The homework is basically busy work, its not specifically tailored to make sure students are really understanding the core subjects and skills they need. I wish the education department will reconsider how public schools spend the money that are given to them. There isn't enough connection going on. People lack love and compassion for the children and turn education into some numerical accounting budget thing and not making sure the students have a bright future. They are cheap because the federal government doesn't prioritize education over other issues. Close Quote
