Open Quote Don't know what the other reviewer was talking about. My son does science experiments/labs all the time, and in math is with his classmates at grade 8 taking Algebra 1, which most NJ kids don't have until high school. Most teachers are fun and creative and there is a caring vibe. Mr. Pfeiffer in guidance is amazing. Lucky this is my neighborhood school. Close Quote

Open Quote Terrible math program. Over 30% of kids have private tutors to teach them the things they should be learning in school - this may explain why the NJASK scores are good. Except for an accelerated math program beginning in 7th grade for a select group of kids, there is NOTHING to offer the top performers on a daily basis. Most of these kids are bored beyond belief as most classes are taught at about a 5th grade level (open book quizzes, multiple choice tests, etc). Science is either the teacher reading from the book or putting on a video - no hands on experiments, no use of microscopes. Many kids have a terrible time first semester in 9th grade as they are not adequately prepared for high school. Really a shame. Close Quote
