Open Quote no consistency in discipline by teachers. Students are punished for trivial things, but excused if the "teacher" or "school" is at fault. For instance a 7 yr old walked away from the school at lunch time in Feb. with no outerwear and was NOT missed by the school or a teacher until a resident sited the child and called the school. The child had reportedly walked 1.5 miles. The principle picked the child up in her car, and NO punishment was given. Obviously the children aren't being well supervised and/or teachers aren't very observant.
However, on the other hand, teachers are very quick to punish for things like minor shoving or poking of each other, sending emails, writing notes, clothing, etc. Which in my opinion is normal behavior for elementary age. If these behaviors are noted students are also interrogated by teachers and coached regarding potential family issues and home environment. They may be fine with academics but otherwise I'm not at all impressed with the teachers at this school. Close Quote
