As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote Kelloggsville High School is a great school to attend. The staff really cares for the students, which makes everyone feel comfortable and safe. It is not a very big school, enrolling about 600 students each year. Though the size is small, it is very diverse. Everyone is friends with everyone and you usually know the majority of the students. New students are always welcomed and usually fit right in.

Lunch divides the school day in half. There are six hours, and lunch comes after the third. You are allowed to roam the halls during lunch, but you must eat in a room,(some teachers let groups of students eat in their room, or if you need extra help during lunch you may go there with their permission), or in the lunchroom. The gym and library are also open during the lunch period. There is always enough room in the lunchroom and extra room in the commons area, which is right next to the lunchroom. A planned meal is prepared by the wonderful lunch ladies, but if you would prefer something else, Pizza, subs, pretzels and burgers, are an everyday option. You may have milk and fruits with your meal, and help yourself to the salad bar. If you don't like what they are serving, there is a concession stand/snack bar, that usually serves fries, drinks and common snacks.

Extra curriculum activities are great! Sports are a great way to make new friends and get involved. Kelloggsville offers a wide variety of sports. Sports are also a great way to show off school spirit, whether you are watching or playing. You may also be a part of band and different clubs. Some people do sports, band and clubs. The school also encourages getting involved with the community, and offer different ways to do so.

Kelloggsville does offer AP classes and Honors classes. They are both great programs. The staff does a great job of helping students do their best. If you need extra help with anything, or need to catch up, there are easy ways to do so.

Overall, it is a great place to be. Drugs and drama are not a problem and the school is prominently Anti-Bullying. Bullying is very rare. It is a great school and a great place to be. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
