The school also maintains a relatively low student-teacher ratio and spends more per student than the state and district averages, which may contribute to its strong academic results.

While Mount Harmony Elementary outperforms its nearby counterparts, such as Patuxent Elementary and Plum Point Elementary, on academic measures, the school has experienced fluctuations in chronic absenteeism rates, which are generally higher than the nearby schools. Additionally, the school's performance among specific student subgroups, such as African American and White students, may warrant further examination to identify any areas for targeted interventions and support.

Open Quote This school lacks organization and structure. My child has attended Mt. Harmony for 1 year now and has learned absolutely nothing this year. He is no longer excited about school and reports the classroom is chaotic. On several occasions he has reported physical contact between students IN THE CLASSROOM. He also reports his teacher has apologized to the class for the many disruptive students that slow down their learning. Very disappointed. Close Quote
