Summary

Beverly Middle School is a public middle school serving 1,356 students in grades 5-8 in Beverly, Massachusetts, which is part of the Beverly school district. The school's academic performance is generally on par with or slightly above the state averages across English Language Arts, Mathematics, and Science, with particular strengths in 6th grade ELA and Math.

However, Beverly Middle School struggles more with its English Language Learner, Special Education, and Low Socioeconomic Status student subgroups, ranking in the bottom half of Massachusetts middle schools for these groups. The school also lags behind the state averages in 8th grade ELA and 8th grade Math. Despite its relatively high spending of around $14,200 per student and a low student-teacher ratio, Beverly Middle School has maintained a 3-star rating from SchoolDigger for most of the past decade, suggesting it may be performing well but not exceptionally compared to other top-performing middle schools in the state.

Several of the nearby middle schools, such as Marblehead Veterans Middle School, Manchester Essex Regional Middle School, and Miles River Middle, outperform Beverly Middle School on academic measures and have higher SchoolDigger rankings, indicating that Beverly Middle School may have room for improvement to keep pace with its higher-achieving neighbors.

Open Quote This is a horrible school and unsafe for children. A family member of mine attends here and has been bullied and physically harmed and the school does nothing to intervene or protect him and in fact has caused him more suffering they do not do their jobs correctly whole school should be shut down.
