The school's performance on certain student subgroups, such as White students and students with disabilities, has been relatively strong compared to the overall school performance. However, the school faces challenges in maintaining consistent academic achievement, particularly in comparison to nearby higher-performing schools like Quail Run Elementary and Deerfield Elementary.

Open Quote Pinckney Elementary is not the school you should send your child to. State testing will show there are much better schools in the city. The facilities are old and the school should be closed. More importantly, the school secretary and principal are extremely close-minded and rude to parents and children. The percentage of parent involvement is extremely low because no one wants to work with staff. On countless occasions, I have overheard the principal comment to various students (individually) how great it is they weren't tardy for once. It is not the child's fault if they are tardy; if it is a problem, it is one to be discussed between staff and the parent, not the child! My son was tardy a few times and although it was never more than 1 minute late, he was treated like the worse student in the school...he is in second grade! School should be a safe place for kids to learn and feel welcome and Pinckney fails to provide that security. Close Quote
