Diamond Lakes Elementary consistently ranks in the bottom 10% of Georgia elementary schools, with a statewide ranking between 1015 and 1213 out of 1200-1250 schools over the past 10 years. The school's performance on the Milestones Assessment is significantly below the Richmond County and Georgia state averages across all grade levels and subject areas. For example, in 2024-2025, the percentage of students proficient or better in English Language Arts ranges from 8.3% (3rd grade) to 21.2% (5th grade), compared to the Richmond County average of 18.4% to 25.5% and the Georgia state average of 34.9% to 43%. The school's performance in Mathematics is also well below the district and state averages, with proficiency rates ranging from 14.3% (3rd grade) to 16.5% (5th grade), compared to the Richmond County average of 20.9% to 18.8% and the Georgia state average of 44.3% to 42.6%. The nearby schools, such as Wheeless Road Elementary, Gracewood Elementary, and Tobacco Road Elementary, also perform poorly on the Milestones Assessment, with proficiency rates generally below the Richmond County and Georgia state averages. However, some schools, like Freedom Park Elementary, which is located a few miles away, demonstrate significantly higher academic performance, with proficiency rates well above the district and state averages, particularly in English Language Arts and Mathematics. The consistently low academic performance of Diamond Lakes Elementary, as well as the nearby schools, suggests that there may be systemic challenges within the Richmond County School District that are impacting student achievement.

Open Quote Diamond Lakes has a friendly staff and they have lots of things to offer my children. Afterschool care, dance clubs, technology clubs, cooking club, etc. My children have been to various schools in this county but they seem the happiest at Diamond Lakes. Close Quote
