Open Quote This was my first year teaching at this school. I had a great experience. I had a wonderful group of teammates that welcomed me in! In addition, I had a fantastic group of scholars with supportive parents to match. Furthermore, within the school I have meet some exceptional peers. I’m looking forward to the new academic year! Open Quote I have literally experienced 4 elementary schools in South Fulton for different reasons and I am the happiest at Stonewall Tell. Well, we have been here for 3 grades and I can honestly say the administration is awesome. At first, it was rocky because they were a new team, but they have settled into things and are really trying to be forward thinking with STEM, STEAM, IB, parent bookclubs, foreign language, yoga/meditation, and additional PE hours. HOWEVER, the teachers are hit or miss, some are self absorbed, some miss a lot of days. I can understand they have their own lives, but I'm just letting you know they will blame you and yours even if they miss a month of school for whatever reason. I know I cannot miss a month of work and continue to stay on top of my workload, but hey, that just might be me. My son's grades dropped drastically this school year and he has to take summer school for GMAS reading. I am happy it was just reading since he was behind in all subjects which is my fault because I did not take drastic measures until his last quartly report card. There was no academic support so I had to pay for tutoring. Big time expense and we went without some wants and luxuries for a couple of months. I hope they bring back afterschool academic support, and I also hope they start requiring 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade parents to volunteer at least 5 hours of teacher and admin support. There should be an easy sign up on the website where parents can choose a day, time slot, and task to come in to the school. Only my children's teachers would ask for help every 3 months or so and you practically had to beg them to come in to assist. My other child flourished, the teacher had a more child centered model, and the admins supported her methods and my wishes... Admin is quick to respond to parental and community concerns. You just have to speak up so they will know. I did not speak up with my son, but next year all of my concerns will be heard! To sum it up, the administration cares about the kids, and most of the teachers will do everything possible to assist with your child's academic growth, but like with any field, you have a few bad apples. If you notice any issues with your child's education, let the teachers, counselors, and administration know so that everyone can be on the same page with a plan of action... Overall a good school! Open Quote I would rate this school as an excellent school for any child to attend. I have a 5th grader at this school. She is a straight "A" student. They are very good about parent, teacher and student involvement in the learning process. They strive for high achievement amongst the students. They have excellent business partners that give back to the school. They are professional, they are very involved with the students and truly care whether or not the child learns. There is also excellent leadership and most importantly, the teachers really teach. That is why the test scores are excellent. I would definitely recommend this school! Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
