Open Quote Sandy Creek is a good solid school that could be great. They have had fantastic teachers, but have seen a steady exodus over the past decade. Over ten years ago, this school was ranked 45th in the state, now it is ranked 102nd. What changed? When a school drops like that, it is fault of the school system. For example, here is a school whose parking lots needs repaved, school rooms expanded, teachers hired (school went one year without a physics science teacher, another year without math books - really math books!). Yet the system paid for a nice glass bridge at one the county's premier school. When one of the other high school's lost their principal, they took the one from Sandy Creek (the one in charge during Sandy Creek's rise to 45). And did they do a search for a new one, nope. Instead, they just elevated a vice principal who may or may not have been appropriate for the position. He was eventually replaced. Sandy Creek will continue to be a good school that could have been great until the county's Board of Education puts the same dedication in it as it does it's premier school. Close Quote

Open Quote My child goes to Sandy Creek, and the teachers at this school do not support the student's academic success. They are so focused on the EOCT testing, but they don't give your child the proper tools or attention to give them a more in depth education. These teachers lie about their availability to assist your children and support them as it relates to succeeding within their classrooms. They are focused more on keeping this non-existent image of what the school used to be in comparison to the true reality of how the school is failing our kids. Our kids are failing severely at this school, and the new principal runs that school like a military boot camp, and because of these new rules he's establishing, it has both teachers and students feeling stressed out and uncomfortable to teach and learn. The teachers and administration need an overhaul. We miss Principal Dr. Evans because he was an awesome principal who really cared about the kids. However, because he helped struggling kids, they ran him out of there, but that's typical in Fayette County. God help us with this school and the new leadership. This school is extremely overrated, and parents please don't buy in that this is a top performing school in Fayette County. Yes, I would evaluate it as a safe school, but it's not a top performing school by no means to help your child grow academically. Close Quote

Open Quote The parent/teacher communication is not where it should be. I feel the administrators should hold the teachers to a higher standard. The administrators seem to care more than the teachers and that is a big concern for me. Close Quote

Open Quote This school is awful where is all this 5 star ratings coming from. Something is wrong with this picture. The children at this school is struggling in math and there are no teachers to help them. There is a lot of hype going on about the teachers at this school that is not true. My child counselor is the worst she do not help parents or give you important information that will help your child. This school or the people I have talked to acts as though these children do not have parents. News flash my child have parents and to not involve parents and talk to the child about important decisions is not right. This school set our children up to fail this coordinate algebra is ridicules . The scores that are being shown is not true these scores are worst. Close Quote

Open Quote SCHS is so diverse and is everything one looks forward to in a high school. It is honestly a great learning environment! The teachers are very dedicated to the students and are always willing to help, it is clear that they want us to succeed. Everyone in the school are also very spirited when it comes to sports and academic extracurricular activities. Whether it is a state championship football game or a debate team final, we always support each other to the fullest withe the help of great coaches and mentors. I have learned so much at Sandy Creek. There has been so many opportunities to expand myself and become a more well-rounded student. The counselor provides many scholarship opportunities, and she can help you get into any college that you choose. Over all Sandy Creek is a great high school. Close Quote
