Open Quote Coffee Middle school made vast improvements in the 2010-2011 school year. Not only did they make AYP but the percentage of students passing the CRCT (state testing) increased drastically. The teachers collaborate with their content areas twice a week to discuss changes needed to lesson plans, assessments, and other instructional issues. The sixth grade made huge gains in the percentage of students that passed the CRCT in all subject areas and the API, Vette Stern has initiated changes that have led to changes in the methodology and instructional styles of all the teachers. Small group, differentiated, individualized instructional experiences are the foundation of the school instructional methodology. Coffee Middle School should be praised as a Georgia School Achievement and a leader in implementing research-based learning strategies and providing excellent instruction for all students.
