Open Quote We have had children in this school for a number of years and have watched a steady decline. The leadership is very lacking and they are not preparing the children academically. When compared to public schools and other private schools in the area, the curriculum repeatedly chosen at this school is severely lacking, especially in topic driven essay/ report writing, science, and some aspects of mathematics . This school is NOT on track with core competencies on a number of levels in various subjects. If a child is on either end of the academic spectrum (gifted/excellerated learner or struggling), the staff are hard pressed to intervene- even with in depth parental involvement and pleas for assistance. Though the staff and teachers are kind, they will allow behavioral issues to go unmanaged in an effort to retain tuition for the schools survival. They have plans to improve the grounds, but not the means to do so. I hope this school makes a positive turn given enough time, but we will seek more rigorous academics elsewhere for upcoming school years and continue Biblical teachings at home. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this school to friends or family any longer. Close Quote

Open Quote My daughter has been attending Citrus Park Christian School since she was in Kindergarten. She is now in 8th grade has been in Eagle Cadet Choir (Middle School) for the past 3 yrs and they are State Champions. When there are problems they are addressed quicker than in Public School. She has excelled in all classes all the way up from K5 thru 8th grade while maintaining her A average.

Some people comment on having parents involved with teaching the children, and they don't like it. Well, in my experience having a parent help teach a student or help volunteer is great for the school moral. Meaning, that the student, family, and school are all enriched for this experience of learning and growth.

Some comments made were that your children will be ostracized because you don't follow the Bible, this is incorrect. No child or parent for that matter will be ostracized for your views in regard to the Bible or any other type of faith. I myself have never read the Bible even though I do have one.

In regards to the school tuition, it is high but, it is less expensive than some surrounding Christian schools in the Tampa Bay Area. CPCS also accepts Scholarships plus VPK. In addition, the other schools only teach up to 5th or 8th grade whereas CPCS teaches up to 12th grade. There are maybe 2 other schools that teach up to the last year of high school but I have noticed that they are not coed and also they are not non-denominational like Citrus Park Christian School.

If you would like your children to get a great education check out CPCS they are a great school and the students receive an excellent education and go on to continue their education in the college of their choice that does not necessarily have to be Christian colleges. Some recent grads actually went on to non-Christian well known State Universities. Close Quote
