Open Quote Since Covid, my children have been attending virtual school. This is not an educational format we had ever considered prior to the pandemic. However, we found that they have excelled in both their academics and discipline. In terms of their academics, they developed a deeper sense of understanding of the subject matters, as well as had more options of classes to take as electives. For instance, despite taking Spanish in her private brick & mortar school, my oldest is also taking French, in addition to her Spanish class. She is also taking photography and a host of other courses not available in her former private school. In addition, my girls have developed a sense of discipline and are now in charge of and controlling their own schedule. This has allowed them to move faster in some courses but also slow the pace of their learning for more challenging classes. Now that my oldest has completed middle school, we want her to return to a brick & mortar for high school. However, she prefers staying virtual. Despite our wish that she return to a traditional school to experience the social aspects of high school, we are conflicted. Conflicted because she has earned straight A's since becoming virtual, has gone beyond the traditional courses that would have been required for an 8th grader and has access to an excellent curriculum and teachers. It's getting harder to argue with her because of her excellent performance with PB Virtual. I would highly recommend this option. Close Quote
