Summary

Mesa Ridge High School is a public high school in Colorado Springs, Colorado, serving 1,255 students in grades 9-12. The school is part of the School District No. 3, which is ranked 55 out of 115 school districts in the state and has a 3-star rating from SchoolDigger.

While Mesa Ridge High School has consistently ranked in the lower half of Colorado high schools, with below-average performance on standardized tests, the school does have some bright spots. Its four-year graduation rate is on par with state and district averages, and certain student subgroups, such as African American and Hispanic students, outperform their peers at the state and district levels. However, the school faces challenges, including a relatively high chronic absenteeism rate and a large population of students from low socioeconomic backgrounds, which may contribute to its overall academic performance.

Interestingly, nearby schools like Widefield High School have similar performance metrics to Mesa Ridge High School, while the James Irwin Charter High School, a charter school in the Harrison School District No. 2, significantly outperforms Mesa Ridge High School and other nearby schools on academic measures. This suggests that targeted interventions and support could potentially help improve the overall outcomes for Mesa Ridge High School.
