Open Quote I am a former student who graduated in 2004. Without Aurora Central I would not be on the path I am today, I would not be a student at the University of Colorado Denver, nor would I be getting my degree in English and secondary education. Central and the teachers inspired me to give back to the Urban school that gave me the tools and confidence I needed to succeed. We may not of had enough books but what I had was much more important - great teachers that cared about me and my classmates. As I get ready to graduate as a teacher I would find it a honor to work for the school that has so much to offer but gets looked past because of its history. And it is important to remember that what makes a good school are its teachers. I have memories and friends that I will cherish for a life time and I just hope I become the teacher that so many teachers there have inspired me to become. It offers to teach more than academics, it teaches students the tools they need to succeed. It gives hope to students who have never known what hope feels like. It gives us a chance to become the person we are meant to become, to succeed when people may not think it is possible. And it is important to note that I attended Arapahoe High my freshman year and though Arapahoe is a terrific school I would always choose Central in heart beat, because it gave me something that Arapahoe never could - a chance, hope, a dream, and pride to be apart of something so wonderful and unique. I am proud to say I am a Aurora Central Trojan! Close Quote
