Summary

Cambridge Heights Elementary is a consistently high-performing K-5 public school serving 348 students in Citrus Heights, operating within the broader San Juan Unified district.

The school stands out dramatically from its neighbors, achieving test scores well above both district and state averages, particularly in English and Math. While many nearby schools like Skycrest Elementary, Coyle Avenue Elementary, and Charles Peck Elementary rank in the lower percentiles statewide, Cambridge Heights has maintained a 4-star rating for over a decade. It also excels in keeping students engaged, with chronic absenteeism rates roughly half the district average, a key indicator of a positive school environment.

Notably, the school achieves these strong outcomes efficiently, spending less per student than most comparison schools. It has shown remarkable resilience post-pandemic, with attendance recovering quickly and academic performance remaining stable. This combination of high achievement, excellent attendance, and effective resource use makes Cambridge Heights a standout "pocket of excellence" in its area.
