Summary

Abraham Lincoln Elementary is a K-6 public school serving 498 students in Sacramento, part of the Sacramento City Unified district, and it faces significant academic and attendance challenges that place it in the bottom quartile of California elementary schools.

The school's academic performance is well below average, with only about 24% of students proficient in English and 17% in math, which is notably lower than both district and state averages. A major concern is chronic absenteeism, with nearly one-third of students missing too much school, a rate much higher than at nearby schools like A. M. Winn Waldorf-Inspired (16.7%) or James Marshall Elementary (23.0%). The school also has a higher student-to-teacher ratio and spends less per student than these comparison schools within its own district.

Looking at other local districts, schools like Del Dayo Elementary in the San Juan Unified district show stronger results, while some schools in the Folsom-Cordova Unified district with similar student demographics also struggle. This suggests that while Abraham Lincoln serves a community with high economic need, the school's specific challenges with attendance and resources are significant factors affecting student outcomes.

Open Quote If you are looking up ratings for schools I have to assume it is because you care about the education you're child receives as well as their welfare. And are not just looking to drop your kid off and pick them up at the end of the day.
In that case, this school is not the best for your child. The weakest link is the Principal. Her incompetence and absence from her job means no one is there to lead. Most of the teachers are only going through the motions and not actually there to teach, but to get a paycheck. It's obvious through their attitudes, the assignments, (lack of) homework and failure to communicate.
It is VERY much worth the travel to take your child to a different school even if this school is the closest. Close Quote
