Summary

Naples Elementary is a top-performing K-5 public school serving 338 students in the Naples Island neighborhood of Long Beach, part of the Long Beach Unified School District.

The school consistently ranks in the top 5% of all California elementary schools, with students scoring significantly higher in English, math, and science than both the district and state averages. This excellence has been sustained for over a decade, demonstrating strong resilience even during challenging times. Notably, the school achieves these outstanding results while spending a moderate amount per student, suggesting resources are used very effectively. It also shows remarkable success in supporting all its students, with historically high rankings for various student groups.

Within its own district, Naples Elementary forms a notable cluster of excellence with nearby Gant Elementary, as both are top-tier schools with similar student populations. However, performance varies widely among other nearby schools in Long Beach Unified, such as Willard Elementary and Burbank Elementary, indicating that school-level factors are crucial. Interestingly, Naples Elementary academically outperforms J. H. McGaugh Elementary in the higher-ranked Los Alamitos Unified district, proving that a school's quality isn't solely determined by its district.

Open Quote My child have is having a wonderful experiences at Naples - learning not just practical life lessons but also mathematics, writing and reading. I'd be hard-pressed to send her to any other public school at this point. We moved to this part of Long Beach to have are child attend a great school. I have a family of three and we could only live in a very small apartment for over a year because of the high rent in this part of town it has been so worth it! Invest now to get her in the right frame of mind for higher education later. At the rate all the kids at Naples are excelling I'm sure we can expect some scholarship opportunities later. Great teachers, staff and setting!
