Carson Middle School

Sad to hear that such a great school has been shut down. I went there from 96' to 99. What I would'nt give to relive it all. The teachers and staff were great. It is truley heartbreaking to hear it's closed

I went to Carson Middle School, for two years. After which, I transferred to another school, Gridley. I would not recommend Carson for anyone, the principal, John Howe is fascist, bigoted, and chooses "favorites" among the students. He will do anything to avoid following a students I.E.P. (Individualized Education Program). I felt depressed at Carson, I began self-inflicted injury due to the treatment there. The students are not well organized, disciplined, and they do bully each other, sometimes physical arguments sometimes not, but the principal, John Howe, will turn a blind eye to much that goes on around him. He goes into the patio area during the 30 min. lunch break and apparently monitors students' actions, and I remember physical arguments in which he would walk away like nothing happened or punish the person who was the initial aggressor. In total, I would not recommend Carson Middle School to any family or teacher, if it were my decision last year to shut down Carson, I would have, & the students would have had transportation (buses, city bus passes, etc.) not like their original plan, if Carson were to shut down.
