Open Quote I have a 5 year old at Garden Lakes whose level of reading and behavior is gradually getting worse because of GL. The level of education is substandard and the schools attitude is laid back and care free. If as much time and effort was put into actually teaching children how to read and write and do their math instead of drilling them about our flag and supporting veterans and constantly begging for donations for impoverished persons, then perhaps the children might receive an education equal to or even better than other leading nations. Supporting the troops and helping the needy may not be a bad thing but I send my kids to school so they can be educated about the world and educated to succeed in the world. I do not want them jumping for joy at the thought of us bombing another nation, I would like them to consider suffering people around the world, often under US sanctions, not just the unemployed on our doorstep, and I think it is disgraceful to be teaching our kids songs about every fast food outlet so they get hooked on lousy food and become morbidly obese like dare I say, rather a lot of US citizens. It is evident the education in Arizona is 30 years behind the rest of the Western world, I hope for the sake of our future we the people use some common sense and prioritize a real education over waving the flag and collecting tins of beans.
