Summary

Longview Elementary School is a public school in Phoenix, Arizona, serving grades PK-8 with a total enrollment of 468 students. Despite its relatively high spending per student and low student-teacher ratio, the school has consistently ranked in the bottom quartile of Arizona elementary schools, with a 1-star rating from SchoolDigger for the past several years.

Longview Elementary School struggles academically, with significantly lower proficiency rates in English Language Arts and Mathematics compared to state and district averages. For example, in the 2024-2025 school year, only 31% of 4th graders and 24% of 5th graders were proficient in ELA, compared to the state averages of 46% and 38%, respectively. The school also faces challenges in serving its diverse student population, with subgroups such as female students, male students, Hispanic students, and English Language Learners consistently performing in the bottom quartile of Arizona elementary schools.

When compared to nearby schools, Longview Elementary School's performance is notably weaker. For instance, the nearby Phoenix Modern charter school consistently outperforms Longview Elementary in academic proficiency and overall school rankings. Despite the school's relatively high spending and low student-teacher ratio, it has not shown consistent improvement in its academic performance or overall school rankings over the years, suggesting a need for a comprehensive review of instructional strategies and resource allocation to better support student learning.

I like that my children attend Osborm district because they have a very good progam for children and for parents. At O.M.S they have great services for tutoring for children who need it. They also have very good programs for children who are outstanding in math. They also have help for children who are struggling academically. I like Longview school because they have band, many coffee talk sessions for parents, and many educational and informational classes for parents. What I dont like is that parents need to learn the proper place for parking and pick up. I I like that the school calls to let me know when there is a PTO meeting.
Thank you to the teachers for their time and patience to understand me. Thank you to teachers and the district for all of your support for our children and informing parents.
