Summary

Bush Elementary is a public elementary school in Mesa, Arizona, serving 502 students in grades PK-6. The school is part of the Mesa Unified District, which is ranked 177 out of 289 districts in the state.

Bush Elementary has a strong performance history, consistently ranking in the top 30% of Arizona elementary schools. In the 2024-2025 school year, the school is ranked 320 out of 909 elementary schools in the state and has a 3-star rating from SchoolDigger. Bush Elementary outperforms the district and state averages in standardized test scores across multiple grade levels and subjects, with some grades reaching over 50% proficiency in English Language Arts and Mathematics. The school's 5th-grade science proficiency rate of 36% is also higher than the district and state averages.

While Bush Elementary performs well overall, the school's performance for White, Asian, English Language Learner, and Special Education students is relatively weaker compared to other subgroups. Addressing the needs of these student populations and improving their academic outcomes could be an area of focus for the school. However, Bush Elementary's relatively high per-student spending and low student-teacher ratio suggest that the school is well-resourced and able to provide a supportive learning environment for its diverse student population.

Open Quote Not impressed with this school. While test scores may be high they do not reflect what the staff at this school does to children. Brutal teachers that cultivate tattling and bulling, playground aids that love humiliating students and an administration that should have their own MTV reality show. There may be some good teachers there but they don't stand up and speak out against the mean and vicious who run and ruin this school. The only thing this school prepares children for is how to stand in line and be obedient victims. The Montessori teachers who one would think would be an exception to hateful behavior fit right in with the program of psychological abuse against children. Bush could be a great school it is too bad it is such an unhealthy place to learn at. Close Quote
