Summary

Quentin Elementary School is a public K-8 school in Avondale, Arizona, serving 856 students as part of the Littleton Elementary District. Unfortunately, the school has consistently underperformed compared to the district and state, ranking in the bottom half of Arizona elementary schools with a 0-star rating from SchoolDigger for the 2024-2025 school year.

Quentin Elementary's academic struggles are evident across all grade levels and subject areas. In the 2024-2025 school year, only 14% of 5th-grade students were proficient or better in Science, compared to 18% in the district and 34% statewide. The school's English Language Arts performance is also concerning, with just 18% of 3rd-graders and 17% of 5th-graders reaching proficiency, compared to 20-25% in the district and 36-38% statewide. Additionally, Quentin Elementary has higher dropout rates than the state average, ranging from 2.6% to 6.1% over the past few years.

While the school's high percentage of students from low-socioeconomic backgrounds likely contributes to its academic challenges, the nearby Lakin Prep Academy, Tres Rios Elementary School, and Littleton Elementary School generally outperform Quentin Elementary in key metrics, suggesting that the school's struggles may be unique. Addressing the root causes of Quentin Elementary's low performance, such as ineffective teaching practices or inadequate resources, will be crucial to improving educational outcomes for all students.

Open Quote My son has been very successful at Quentin. He has been at Quentin since he started kindergarten and he is in fourth grade at this time. I have been really happy with the teachers at Quentin they work very hard on implementing all new programs as their district grows. Ms. Pacheco the school principal has always made her self available when I have had a concern or a question. Close Quote
