The school also struggles to support its subgroups, with many ranking in the bottom quartile of Arizona elementary schools, particularly for African American, Native American, and English Language Learner students. As a result, Homer Davis has been consistently ranked in the bottom quartile of Arizona elementary schools, with a 1-star rating from SchoolDigger for most of the past decade.

Interestingly, the nearby schools, such as Laguna Elementary, Centennial Elementary, and Douglas Elementary, all perform better than Homer Davis on academic measures, despite serving similar student populations. This suggests that factors beyond student demographics may be contributing to the underperformance of Homer Davis. Additionally, the school ranks highly in supporting its military-connected student population and performs relatively well in supporting its homeless and foster care student populations.

Open Quote Homer Davis use to be a great school, students thrived there paresnts loved helping out. But all that changed since they got this ner principal Mr.Miller who has no people skills what so ever and sits on a high horse like he can say and do no wrong and he is always right. There is a BULLING PROBLEM at this school, but according to Mr. Miller there is not, he does not believe that kids can bully here. I know first hand he just sweeps it under the rug. This school has gone from an A+ to a C. With our last principal Mr. Brett Bonner he was awesome and great. He knew how to talk to parnets and students. My son get targeted by his teacher and Mr. Miller who will believe everyone else but my son or the truth. Close Quote
