Summary

BASIS Scottsdale is a public charter school in Scottsdale, Arizona, serving grades 4-12 and part of the BASIS Charter Schools Inc. network. The school is known for its strong academic focus and consistently high performance across various metrics.

BASIS Scottsdale stands out for its exceptional test scores, with 98% of 11th graders projected to be proficient or better in science in 2024-2025, compared to just 19% statewide. The school also boasts a four-year graduation rate of 78.4% for the 2023-2024 school year, significantly higher than the state average. Additionally, BASIS Scottsdale has a relatively low dropout rate, ranging from 3.3% to 6.1% over the past few years. This academic excellence is likely supported by the school's higher per-student spending of $10,234 in 2021-2022, compared to the state average.

When compared to nearby schools, such as Mesa Academy for Advanced Studies and Great Hearts Academies - Archway Scottsdale, BASIS Scottsdale stands out as a high-performing institution. However, the school does not provide data on the percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch, which raises questions about its ability to serve a diverse student population and ensure equitable access to its high-quality education.

Open Quote Hi, I am a student at BASIS Scotsdale, and I have to say that is one of the best educational enviroments that you can find in the state of Arizona, and trust me, I know. BASIS Scottsdale pushes students to meet and exceed higher than normal educational standards. BASIS is NOT a school for slackers, you have to be prepared to study, take a minimum of three tests/ quizzes each week, and pay attention in class. Teachers at BASIS are experts in the field they are teaching and very enthusiastic about helping students learn, they can share interesting experiences and willing to answer any question you have, as long as it pertains to the topic being taught. BASIS isn't for geniuses (even though there are some located at BASIS), it is for those who are willing to work hard. Close Quote
