As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote Elizabeth Lane is an excellent school. We have been at ELE for 4 years and have 4 more years to go. I debated sending my daughter to Providence Day but at the last minute chose ELE. I moved specifically so that my children could go to ELE. We are a "minority family" and have not experienced any unequal treatment as another reviewer hinted at. In fact, the teachers and staff have always been helpful and responsive whenever I had an issue. The teachers are excellent and really care for the students. I am amazed at the level of work my children are doing. I feel like they are receiving a private school education, but even better because I don't have to pay $20k a year. Close Quote

Open Quote I have been an ELE parent for 8 years now, with two more years to go. We purchased our current home specifically for this school and we have not been disappointed. I have not had any problems with teachers not sending home graded papers or responding to emails. The office staff is friendly and helpful; my oldest had a health issue several years ago and the office people were invaluable in making sure my daughter's needs were addressed. I will say that this school is heavily geared towards high achieving students and if you are looking for a more low-key environment this school might not be for you. We were looking for a private school education at a public school price and Elizabeth Lane has given us just that! Close Quote

Open Quote This school is filled with labels, unmotivated teachers, revolving door principals, it's a circus. I hardly see graded papers, the teachers don't email back and when they do they are defensive. Forget about the principal or assistant principal taking your concerns to heart. I do feel if I would have given a huge check to the growth of this school I would have been treated differently. This school is a poor example for kids. Close Quote

Open Quote I would definitely have to agree with the comment from the November 28, parent, and I don't intend to let this mistreatment of minorities in this school continue without our voice being heard. Close Quote

Open Quote This school caters to certain parent and individuals. If you do not fit the mold, do not expect your child to receive a proper education. Rather than subject my child to this institution, I withdrew my child for homeschooling and sought appropriate assistance from the Education Department. If you live in the surrounding, well-to-do neighborhoods, you should do fine. I would suggest looking at the subgroup scoring for this school there is a great disparity with regard to blacks vs the entire populace of students. Not a fair school at all and the numbers do no lie. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
