| by a parent Thursday, May 13, 2010 I am so pleased with the education and special services my children are receiving at this school. After changing from a small, private school out of state, I am shocked at the kind of resources available to the students. They have several resource teachers for library, research, computers, art, music, writing, science and more. Kids who need extra help receive it, whether it be speech therapy, reading tutoring, or a little extra challenge from the GT Program (Gifted and Talented). This school also focuses on character building and personal responsibility. The GLO standards let you know exactly what the children will be graded on and they have several opportunities to practice and receive feedback before receiving final grades each quarter. There are about 7 classes per grade with an average of 21 students per class. I think that is a decent class size at any school and from what I've seen the teachers manage the students very well with the classrooms being quiet and orderly. I do feel that the school could benefit from more playground equipment and an "anti-bullying" program. There seems to be a lot of teasing which is not explicitly racist, however it seems to target Caucasians.
