| by a parent Thursday, January 17, 2013 In a word, INCREDIBLE!!! From the Principal, Mrs. Hernandez, to the teachers and staff this school has been first rate for the year and a half our 4th grade daughter has been there. The students, with their wide ranging ethnicity, willingness to learn is equally met by teachers that encourage different ways of coming up with solutions to problems. Being the first STEM certified school in the state of Georgia really lends credence to the schools motto, "Learning without limits". The schools PTSA does a bang up job of fundraising while keeping parents engaged though a variety of mediums. The addition of Vice Principal Dean Yoder was a welcome move. While providing a firm hand when necessary, he has endeared himself to the student body and is one of the most well-liked staff members in the school. Parental involvement is another reason MCAA gets such high marks. Every event that the school has brings a packed house and it is truly awesome to see so many Mom's and Dad's take an interest in their childrens education. If your child isn't academically competitive, I would recommend sending them elsewhere. That's not to say they aren't great students, but this is a really competitive, high achieving academic instituion. As I told another parent last year that complained about the amount of homework their child was bringing home, "MCAA stands for the Marietta Center for ADVANCED Academics. Not the Marietta Center for Average Academics". Parents have their children on waiting lists both in district and out of district to get into MCAA. I truly believe that the limited number of spots make MCAA special. If your child has achieved grades and test scored that have earned them an invitation to this school, I suggest you jump on it!

| by a parent Thursday, January 17, 2013 I love this school. Teachers are friendly and responsive. The principal listens to every issues and treats my child as her own. My daughter is now in 4th grade and the last two years have been an amazing journey. Our son is enrolled for the 2013/2014 session and we are excited to know that he will be at the best school in Marietta through 5th grade.

| by a parent Friday, September 28, 2012 This school is sort of ok with me. My kid does not like it at all. They do nothing fun. But I keep my child here cause the staff cares more than any school.

| by a parent Tuesday, June 19, 2012 I am very disappointed in MCAA and its total lack of support this year 2011/12 for external academic competitions such as the Math Olympics and science competitions. I am not aware of any of our students going to any of these events this year. Is it that the teachers do not have faith in our students knowledge or are they just trying to save a dime! I can no longer recommend this school. My child will not be returning to MCAA!

| by a parent Thursday, March 8, 2012 MCAA is an AMAZING school which just received the honor of being the first STEM certified school in the state of Georgia!!! My daughter loves, loves, loves, this school. The academics are tough but the kids love it because the learning is made fun, fun, fun!The teachers, and administrative staff are truly amazing!!! We moved just to get our daughter in this district for this school.

| by a parent Friday, March 2, 2012 I waited in line for 3 hours in the freezing cold in early 2010 to get a spot for my daughter at MCAA. Now that she has been here for 2 years, I would wait 3 days for the same spot. I am saddened that this is her last year at the school. MCAA has provided her the model for a very successful future. The "cool" kids at school are at the top of their class and all students strive to do their best. The teachers think outside of the box and encourage the students to do the same. Thank you MCAA!

| by a parent Friday, March 2, 2012 After trying several schools in our area and being disappointed in each for various reasons, we had defaulted to homeschooling so that our children could receive a decent education. Short of paying for private school, there just did not seem to be a place that could meet or exceed our standards for education, moral development, and student safety. Then we toured MCAA. From the moment my youngest stepped through the doors, we knew this something different, special, and just right for him. The staff is wonderful with the children and the parents alike. The principal and vice principal team are outstanding and truly desire to partner with each family. The technology available (interactive white boards, 1:1 ratio of laptops per student, the science labs and digital science fair, etc.) is impressive to say the least. And on top of that, the teachers REALLY communicate with parents as well as go out of their way to challenge each child to do and to be his/her very best. The annual trip to Rock Eagle was phenomenal...beautifully organized, terrific educational opportunities for the kids, fun and creative evening activities that helped the students form lasting connections with their peers...PLUS parents are invited to tag along as chaperones! What other school would be brave enough to take a building full of 3rd-5th graders on an overnight educational trip? MCAA offers a top of the line, private-school education at a public school 'price'. We only wish we had found it sooner!

|
| by a parent Thursday, March 1, 2012 MCAA is nothing short of amazing! The principal, teachers, and staff are top notch and truly care about the students. The word advanced is not just a mere adjective. It truly describes the level instruction being delivered. If your child is academically advanced, bored with traditional education, or has a love for Math, Science & Technology then this is the place for them to grow, excel and be challenged!

| by a parent Tuesday, February 28, 2012 My child is in her third year at MCAA. It is the best experience we have had. There is nothing else that I can ask of the school or the school system. She has excelled since moving here due to the challenges of her peers. She isn't pushed too hard, but rather given a good level of encouragement to do her best. The teachers are caring and love their jobs. We are looking forward to continuing in the school system through high school.

| by a parent Monday, February 6, 2012 My child is in the third grade at MCAA. The school offers a challenging learning environment for all students and exemplifies its motto: Learning without Limits. Students are offered instruction in all subject areas and attend a 50 minute STEM course each day. The one-to-one technology is amazing and keeps my child engaged. The supportive staff has made this the best choice for my daughter and our family.

| by a teacher on FaceBook Friday, June 3, 2011 I love teaching at this school. The population is so diverse and the kids are wonderful. Add to that the supportive administration, collaborative teaching staff and faculty, and fantastic parents and you have the makings of the best school around. I never want to teach anywhere else.

| by a parent Thursday, July 23, 2009 This is such an amazing school. The staff cares about each and every child in the building. They are great to work with. The principal has a true open door policy, the assistant principal is amazing. The parental involvement is second to none! It is a great school!!!
