As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Went here for middle school, approaching close to a decade now since I've last had to step foot into the building. For me personally, I went to Benjamin Franklin from K-8 grade, and I definitely experienced the highs and lows Benji had to offer throughout the years - I want to put emphasis on the 'lows' however.. Not to say I haven't made long lasting friendships, learned from very passionate and thoughtful teachers, and even made me into the person I am today - I'm forever thankful that this is the case.

However, there were some notable things that even looking back, makes me look through a lens of negativity. There were some pretty crazy things I saw in that school as a kid. Without going into too much detail, a couple lighter examples I remember are teachers crying in class due to the students' behavior (multiple teachers, multiple times, at different grades, and more frequently than what you would consider 'normal'), and the deteriorating walls/rundown interiors including bits of ceiling that would fall on students (thankfully, since I left the building has undergone remodeling).

I do wonder sometimes about the teachers I had and where they are at now. Looking back, I hope they haven't stopped teaching as the majority of the teachers there enjoyed, or at the very least gave off the impression of enjoying the act of teaching in front of us as kids. I thought they did a great job for the most part. Unfortunately, I do not have any year books and my memory is a little fuzzy so I can't quite remember their names fully, but Mrs. Evans if you're reading this you were awesome!

Hopefully, Benjamin Franklin is no longer experiencing those negative qualities I described above (remember, those are the 'lighter examples'... some crazy things I saw). But from my own personal experience, this is how I would answer the question of "how would you rate your middle school?". Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
