About Immunization Rates:
Kindergarten Immunization Rates: This graph shows the percent of students in the school who have all of the required doses for the vaccine type for kindergarten entry (complete). The following vaccines are required for Washington State kindergarten entry: DTaP (Diphtheria, Tetanus and Pertussis), Hep B (Hepatitis B), MMR (Measles, Mumps and Rubella), Polio and Varicella (chickenpox). The data comes from schools reporting to the Department each school year. Schools report total counts of students based on each student’s Certificate of Immunization Status, which is parent-reported and is not health care provider verified. The goal line is the national Health People 2020 target of 95% completion for these vaccines for school age children.
Protected Students: The number and percent of students in the school reported to have all required vaccinations for their age and grade.
Students with plan: The number and percent of students in the school with a temporary approved plan for getting caught-up on required vaccinations. These students can remain in school if they follow this plan.
Students with exemption: The number and percent of students in the school reported to have any exemption type for at least one vaccine.
Unknown: The number and percent of students whose immunization status is not known. These students do not fall into any other category – they may be missing required vaccines, but have no temporary delay plan or exemptions. Students with no signed CIS on file are also counted here.
